Would be a good race for AFS but I'm willing to look at jumping back on Lucky Eighty Eight

I notice there is only 2.5 kgs between top and bottom. What a joke.

Why wouldn't the toppies have 58 and the bottom weights 53 ?

Surely it is not hard to do at the press of a button ?

Those with a 103 "rating" simply get 58 and work down from there with those horses "rated on 93 or less weighted on the minimum. Or those "rated' highest given 58 and work down from there AFTER acceptances.

Surely this is not hard and makes for abetter spectacle and betting race ?

The weights are compressed because the higher rated horses nominated but didn't accept I imagine, then they're moved up so the top weight has 57kg.

Lloyd regularly nominates horses he has no intention of running to do exactly that to the weights.

Will the winner get a penalty for the Caulfield Cup? If so, what would be expected?

Call me cynical but enough to get into the field. Or is this race Ballot free?

Think the latter Cal.  Also not sure if you can get a penalty.

I realise that, There is no reason why they simply can not re-adjust the weights to reflect the "ratings" and have a greater spread of weights.

I think My Scotsgrey is some chance in this race, ran on pretty well last start considering not many made ground for the day $15 seems overs to be, definitely a weaker race then previous years.

This appears to be a much more suitable race for Master O'Reilly.  He might sneak into 13th with an ounce of luck in running.
