Hi guys and gals....Austar, which I don't have (don't ask) will be playin a great concert this week..wondering how I could get a freind to record if they had Austar Max?
PS Concert is The Church "a psychedelic symphony' 30 yr special gig at Opera House in April this yr
PSS is Max standard Austar package?

I am on "standard" on Austar--and get Max---so should be Ok for your mate to record on a disk.

I am with Foxtel, but I think it is the same and do get Max.

No dramas with recording( I am told  )

If you have any issues, let me know and I will record it for you

shogun all you do is set up your austar through your video and you can tape anything.

Thanks heaps for info guys.
I'm workin on who I know that has Austar...lots used to have it, now don't.
The program is on Max channel
A Psychedelic Symphony premieres Thursday, October 6 at 10pm on
MAX.repeats of the special will be shown:Friday, October 7 at
10.00am,Wednesday, October 12 at 2.00pm,Sunday, October 23 at 10.00pm
DJH if you recorded it would you then be able to send me a disc? many thanks for the offer mate.

About 10 years ago when I had OptusVision I could tape anything on a video recorder.  smiley was so easy.
Since I moved & joined up with Austar, I have never recorded anything.  sad
See I don't have a video anymore (only a DVD)
When they hooked me up, they basically said I can't record anything UNLESS I pay $20 extra to get MyStar. I have never done this as I don't see the value of paying an extra $240 per year to record stuff. I think it's a scam!

A mate has Foxtel & reckons he can record stuff but not the Racing channel, says the signal is scrambled.

That is not right--I have a DVD and I can record ANYTHING--from austar--including racing channel.

Get yourself a decent DVD and get to it    biggrin

I have my Foxtel plugged into a TV card in my PC, so watch TV on my PC monitor and just hit record and it saves to a mpg file.  Easy for file management, burning onto DVD,etc. TV cards aren't very expensive from memory < $100.

sorry rumples out here in the bush then new fangled disc thingys and such aint arrived yet in fact it's only 1998 here  smiley
