. Brilliant mate. It really is the simple things in life, as you say.
I go to my brothers house every Friday Night during the footy season with my best mate and my old man. We sit in the same spots. Watch the first game of League, then the AFL on Fox IQ, then the 2nd game of league. We take it in turns to have a Friday Bet All Up on the 3 games and we all put $50 in to try and win a bank for the Saturday Races. And the whole time we all do the form together for those races. There is a huge White Board in the lounge room (bachelor pad) and someone will get up and write a horse's name on the board, we will then all delve into our form books and give our opinions. At the end of the night, each of us picks one horse or sports team and we do a 5 leg all up (our other mate rings in) for the weekend. It is so nerve-racking when your pick comes round during the weekend. Texts of abuse follow if you are the leg that lets everyone down. We bank any proceeds and go away together with the funds.
My brother cooks us all hot dogs or Steak and Chips. My missus wouldn't even dream of organising something on a Friday Night during the footy season.
These times are just heaven to me. Wouldn't miss them for the world.
