Free Comp on the Cox Plate Day races. This will get the grey matter ticking over.

Rules
1.Select a horse in each race that will beat the 'COMP horse'.
2.Scores are worked out by how many spots you are right or wrong by x10.
3.Scores are also worked out on each race comparing the odds difference. (Using the Courier Mail paper odds for this comp)
(Examples on scoring below)
4.The person with the most points at the end of the day is the winner.
5.Free entry for this comp.
6.I am the judge & no correspondence will be entered into.(but slight objections allowed if I've made an error in scoring) unsure
7.Entries to be in by Saturday 11am. NO changing entries once they've been lodged.
If you edit your selection post, then you are DISQUALIFIED from the Comp.
8.If your selection is SCR then you lose 50 pts for that race.
9.If the COMP horse is SCR then that race is void & everyone gets 0pts for that race.
10. Enjoy the Racing.  beer 

PRIZE
The winner(30% of prize)& the r/up(20% of prize) share with me(50% of prize) in a $100 bet on Derby Day. Details to follow.

How scoring works.
Eg1)
If you picked R1 2 Free of Doubt $9 & he runs 2nd & the COMP horse So Sure $5 runs 5th, then you get 30 pts (3 spots x10 = 30pts), also comparing the odds
so there is a 4 pt difference x10 = 40 bonus points. So for the race you'd get 70pts.
Eg2)
If Free Of Doubt ran 10th then you'd lose 50 points(5 spots) but not any for the odds as you picked a horse with higher odds.
Eg3)
If you picked R1 4 Rise To The Top $3 & it won then you'd get 40 pts(4 spots x10) but you wouldn't get any bonus pts as the odds are shorter than the COMP horse.
Eg4)
If Rise To The Top ran 12th then you'd lose (7spots x10) 70 pts & you'd lose(5-3) 2pts x10 =20 horse for the odds difference. For the race you'd lose 90 pts.

Thank you for offering up the comp and the generosity of the prizes (especially 2nd place biggrin )  Congratulations to Seal on winning 1st place and to all who entered the comp, without the participation there wouldn't be a winner.

Now to try and make you some money, I've left out favourites and am working on today's Daily Telegraph for prices.

If there are any scr before I put the tickets on, then the replacement horse will come into it. Putting bets on at my local (on QLD TAB)

Put the bets on QLD TAB online. Seems to be working now. The odd thing I noticed is that the time is a Southern time zone & when I put the Quaddie on it's now 11% instead of 10%. Good Luck.   beer

I have the MR Quaddie going for 5% with 4,11,12 live in last leg. (pity Sister Madley nosed out Rarefied woulda been paying a lot more)
