The Bauer odds were crazy, I repeat crazy !!

Yeah the formlines were good, but he's a freaking 9yo who even surprised the stable when he won in UK.

As for the day generally, quite a few jarred up on the track. Be a few forgive runs there generally.

Whilst I was not happy with the result, I was happy to take the $2.30 for Bauer.

I'm with Matt, on form the odds seem about right, no issue there ..... I'm more concerned about why they rode him so close  chin

Yeah i thought the odds were about right considering it could be argued that Bauer should have almost beaten the cup winner last start and his main opposition, on form, was a plugger at best. I must admit i didnt back him because i missed the fixed price and i dont back horses in the red, i did look for something to beat him but couldnt come  into any so ended up having $2 e/w Tactic for some interest.

Interesting yesterday was the fact i couldnt find a horse that had started on a fast track, when was the last time we have seen a fast track posted in the metro areas??

Good win by Ironstein. A good stayer in an age when many are knocking our stayers. That was his 4th black type win, the others being over 2200m and two over 2400m. With the benefit of hindsight, would have to have been one of the better rated horses in the race with only 54 kg, and good luck to those that got the 16-1 - I wasn't one of them - I got sucked into Macedonian. Never again!  rant

If that race was before the Melbourne Cup, there was no way i would have ended up backing Dunedan

What a tough game this can be to win on the punt.

I think Auth posted on the 2800m race thread before the Cup that it made the Geelong Cup form look atrocious.

Guys come on - Bauer CLEARLY just didnt run anywhere near his last simple as that. FFS, comes back to the old cliche, which I shouldnt have to point out to such a crowd really -  they're horses not machines it happens.
