Yeh Cal, don't know about that statement as well.

Perhaps if Rarefied turns up for the Geoge Moore and he is not travel weary, we will be able to get a good guide on where those horses stand in the general score of things as he performed well over the Melbourne carnival and maybe should have beaten Ortensia in the west.

Should be a very interesting race.

What, you cant see a problem with a horse that gets beat in low grade races in muswellbrook & Morree and the goes to a strong city race and performs

Horses that get beat out of sight at dubbo dont go to randwick and win

Have a look at  So Genourous from Saturday. Canterbury race 7

Baker,

Not to be confrontational or anything but if Rarefied gets beat out of sight or by a few lengths is he travel weary or outclassed? I personally think Ortensia is a quality mare but only at a G3, maybe G2 level. Her Winterbottom Stakes win was against the weakest G1 field I've seen in a long time, and she easily accounted for Rarefied. I think it's only fair to approach Rarefied as is, on the basis that Snowden will have him fit and ready to run, and that he is capable of performing well.

I don't know if its fair to say that a horse could be deemed "travel weary" just because he gets beat? I don't think he has a mortgage on the race by any means and if Temple of Boom, Buffering and Burdekin Blues (to name a few) could match it in the southern stakes races, then the QLD fields who at times beat or got close to those horses cannot be deemed vastly inferior to the other eastern state horses.

Fully aware of that champ but it was a low race, that Brissy race had some top notch horses in it. Nothing out of that Canterbury race will be winning a "big one"

Fairgo

I think you may have misunderstood me. All I was saying is that if Rarefied is fit and runs up to his last couple of runs, it will give a good guide as to where the present local Queensland horses stand in comparison to other sprinters in Australia.

Personally, I don't think they are in the Buffering, Burdekin Blues class, but I am happy to be proven wrong.
