This will be a great Vic Cup this year.
The Vic Cup is the strongest Grand Circuit race in Australia and this year will be no different.
Yes mate.... It is looking like being an outstanding one.

Just hoping it doesn't get stuffed by the marbles....

I don't think IMQ will try and cross Smoken Up at all as Miracle Mile proved he can't win a race doing so much work early and there is so much speed outside him

he doesn't need to be used early. Silly Amy will now think she is driving Poppy and I can see Smoken Up, with Mr Feelgood in breeze and Amy 3 wide and them going mad early with

some chance him not wanting to hand up the breeze to Amy.

The track record could be in Awful bother Sat night....   Thumb Up Thumb Up

Think Quinn might finally crack it for his first Australian GC race outside WA this time... He wont try to cross Smoken Up given he's right nextdoor, but just needs to come out with him, wait for the cover from Mr Feelgood, and ping out of the 1-1 in the straight. Any other midrace pressure, if any, surely would only come from another suitable McCarthy runner to give Mr Feelgood a trail. So at worst Quinn lands 1-2 & close enough without spending anything. Providing Smoken Up gets a decent amount of pressure from the Mccarthy's appointed death seater, and Quinn doesnt get hemmed in too early by the 3 wide line, I like his chances. Still its a damn shame that this race is only a sprint- the Vic Cup always deserved better/longer, given the strength of it's fields.

Yes there is team driving there.  Just as there is team riding with Darley now team driving with Dixons etc.

Would you not do it if you had multiple horses in a race???

Got a bite.

So this is how it goes   McCarthy`s got 4 runners, 4 different sets of owners in a group 1 but the other 3 are there to ensure Mr Feelgood gets every possible hope.

ok but in normal races with multiple runners with different owners how do they get away with it from an owners point of view...they don`t seem to lose many horses to other trainers.????

surely if its as prevelant as you and others (me included at times)say why don`t owners buck up and take there horses else where.I know with Dixon he has quite a few horses on 1/2 prizemoney arrangments
