Just caught some of TVN's This Racing Life on David Hayes and his new home at Euroa ,very interesting viewing. thumbsup

While Euroa doesn't look as picture perfect as the old home at Lindsay Park it has every imagineable facility so if the horses are good enough he's bound to train lots of winners.

Multiple stable barns each with 30 extra large boxes, covered day yards, spelling paddocks, several galloping tracks, iced water walkers, several sand rolls, galloping treadmill, farriers shed,in house vet, video of gallops for streaming to owners when fully operational, everything  designed and purpose built

Apparently no trouble in recruiting and retaining stable workers from overeas as it's located in the Rural category which is an Immigration Go Zone not like the metropolitan areas where the bigger stables are located.

His aim is max of 120 horses including 40 or so spellers and to concentrate on Melb,Syd & Adelaide.

Looks like he has a lovely family too to carry on the Hayes dynasty.

He took a while to get going (went through a transition stage where all his horses were performing terribly) but now they have obviously settled in well and the stable is flying.

I could just see Jim Pike absolutely loving the story about the plunge on I Got Chills.

You're not wrong there Matt, now what did he do wrong Pete? He should have been given life for not only not telling the public but he actually misled them by booking Craig Williams for Nadeem,  what a terrible thing to do?? lol   lol
What d'ya reckon Pete, Hung drawn and quartered fair punishment??

P.S. It was a great show and I really enjoyed it, I reckon he will have far less Tendon injuries than is the Industry Normal too wit the Ice Cold water worker! (and the uphill work but mainly the Water worker with the Chilled water)

I've seen the TVN "shorts" for the show but haven't seen the full show.

So, should I change my tried and tested system of looking through a field and putting a big red line through anything trained by him?

TVN does this stuff well

Many punters will be interested to see if the achievements of those that planned for the future previously can be replicated at Euroa -- it will be some climb back.

For my money the remarkable thing about this and like TVN 'feature interviews' is how, when it is over, there is nothing in the memory of it that recalls the interviewer's input.

The ability of an interviewer to run the show and, apparently, both be there and not be there, is a special skill.

So what does he do when has breaks of 213 and 250 days between races?
