She runs over 1400m and is a dominant winner in autumn.

Trainer says - she'll get 2000m I think. Could win a Cox Plate but we'd have to forego run at Royal Ascot.

What do you want to do ?

Why do golfers want to win the Masters more than some Dubai tournament?

Why do tennis players want to win Wimbledon rather than the Masters Cup?

Why do sailers try and win the Sydney to Hobart?

There is more to life than dollars and cents to some people- particularly when you have plenty.

Calling the owners ' censored s' because they want to enjoy their horse, tells more about you than it does about them.

What of the actual question?

My guess is that Jim would like to see her aimed at the Cox Plate rather than go to Ascot.

I am not convinced she would stay 2000m.

There are no notable mile races in the spring in Australia so I can see no real reason not to travel overseas. If she stays 1400-1500m in the autumn than the July Cup would be perfect for her. The steep climb at Newmarket really requires an Aussie horse that can stay 7-7-1/2 furlongs here.

So no horse should ever travel to anywhere.

That thing that came here from France a few months ago clearly didn't handle it   lol

Phar Lap died.

Doesn't that qualified as "harm"?

Vamp your analogy is way off the mark, Golfers playing the masters is not the same as an owner wanting to go to Ascot, Golfing is a Golfers life, these people are not involved in racing in any way, shape or form, it is only their money that is involved in racing, I will bet that have never ridden a horse, cleaned a box, had any pretensions to being a trainer/Jockey/Strapper even if it was a passion for racing they would want to win a lot more races in Australia, they are Australian aren't they??
all comes back to the description I used the first time, they want to bow to the queen, kiss arse and wear a Top Hat, what does that make them, a W#*ker with a Capital W!!

I am Australian and very Proud of it and am sick of 200 years of kissing Pomme Arse!!

We helped them in 2 world wars, where were they in Vietnam and Korea??? They didn't help us did they?? we were always expendable, I can understand them thinking that , what really irks me is why an Australian would think that!!

With your logic Jim she wouldn't have traveled to Flemington!

You are entertaining Jim.

But you have lost the plot.

All the great owners/trainers/jockeys want to win at Royal Ascot. Just like they want to win at the Flemington Carnival.

I can tell you, the owners had a wish list consisting of 3 things. Royal Ascot was one of them. Let's support them taking our best overseas. I hope she wins in second gear.

Owners not involved in racing?
Its just a shrewd investment, where else can you turn your cash into
