There's plenty of rain around Oz at present and punters face a challenge with some pretty wet tracks.
Some continue to tell us "I had a big whack at the winner. I like betting on wet tracks, because you can rule out so many of the field". Although, that's usually been after we all know the result.
Here's a thread to give our wet-track aficianados the opportunity to provide some advance intelligence on what to back and what not to back on wet tracks.
LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING SOME TIPS

Back in the 80's I was a very keen studied of ancestry regarding wet tracks, but don't really get into it these days, probably because I don't bet on the gallops like I did.
But I'll always remember it was a must to back Whisky Road horses once the heavens opened up.
Are there any like that bloke these days that stick out?

Easy Rocking sired horses seem to handle wet very well.
That aside JWH is probably correct.

There's a whole bunch of theories: breeding, barrier, previous success, webbed feet, being grey but I reckon the only way to try to win these lotteries is to try to guess which one finds the best lane.
The best way would be to back the jock you think might do that.

Obviously most will say they back wet track sires, does anyone know why a certain sire is so proficient in getting progeny who handle the wet? I remember watching Professor Julius Sumner Miller who was a fantastic and famous teacher of mostly science from memory, my point is his famous catch cry "Why is it so" by that he meant knowing the answer was only a part of the knowledge and was not as important as knowing "why" We all know there are breeds that are proficient in the wet but in the words of Julius Sumner Miller "Why is it so" I know but I ain't telling!!

The point is once you understand why you will know exactly which of the breed handle wet tracks and which ones don't, not all whiskey Roads will handle wet tracks, not all horses by Easy Rocking will handle wet tracks, why?? what is the difference?

I would venture to say that not many would know, so why ask them if they don't fully know and understand what it is they are talking about?

Stats are fine but can be misleading, I have seen races run on a bog where there are no wet trackers but there will still be a winner who will go down as a "wet tracker" in it's future form, conversely I have seen races where there are numerous wet trackers in and some will miss a place just because there were "better" wet trackers in the race!! DD I am trying to teach you to "fish" rather than just giving you a fish that I caught!! it is for your own good in the long run
