Confirmation has been received that todays Doomben meeting will be proceeding.

Following the abandonment of four TAB thoroughbred race meetings in the South East corner of the State since Thursday 26 January 2012, Racing Queensland has taken the decision to add races and amend programs for the upcoming week, as per the following schedule.



Ipswich – Friday 3 February 2012

Race Added – Maiden Hcp $10,000 – 2150 metres

Nominations for these races close with the remainder of the program at 11am Monday



Doomben – Saturday 4 February 2012

Race Added – Fillies & Mares Class 6 Plate 4yo&up $45,000 – 1110 metres

Race Added – Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 6 Plate 4yo&up $45,000 – 1110 metres

Race Deleted – Class 6 Plate 4yo&up $45,000 – 1110 metres

Distance Amendment – Open Hcp 1350 metres now 1200 metres

Nominations for these races close with the remainder of the program at 11am Monday



Gold Coast – Saturday 4 February 2012

Race Added – Benchmark 80 Hcp $25,000 – 1400 metres

Race Added – Maiden Hcp $10,000 – 1200 metres

Sunshine Coast – Sunday 5 February 2012

Race Added – Sunshine Coast Cup – Listed $100,000 – 1400 metres

Race Added – QTIS 600 Two Year Old Classic $150,000 – 1200 metres

Nominations for these races close with the remainder of the program at 11am Monday


The distance of the Open handicap at Doomben, from 1350 to 1200m,  was amended to facilitate the reprogramming of the Listed Sunshine Coast Cup 1400m.



Due to the fact that similar races are programmed in the coming week to those that have been lost, Racing Queensland will endeavour to facilitate over-subscriptions for existing events through the division of races where practical.
