At the farm where my mare boards a rare white colt was born in September last year. He is quite a big chap for his age, with chestnut ears, and apparently the first of his kind in South Africa. He is inbred to Mr Prospector/Northern Dancer, and is actually quite well bred. Its going to be exciting seeing him hit the track, and should attract some attention, much needed in racing in South Africa.

Have a look at his pedigree here http://www.rathmorstud.co.za/Foal_GranBlanco.html. Our local provincial breeding website has new on him here: http://www.kznbreeders.co.za/News06022012.html.

Has anybody else seen anything like this? I saw one in Japan called Marshmellow, but without the brown ears.

G'Day Echo95

I see this horse is from the family of Zeditave and Jet Spur and from your neck of the woods Greys Inn.

The Opera House was a similarly well bred mare being closely related to Might And Power. Unfortunately she did not amount to much.

For sure, only time will tell. He has a half-brother by King Of Kings in training called King Cole, and the trainer has been very positive about the horse going to the track. We will all have to wait and see, the beauty of Thoroughbred breeding. We all believe they are champions until the horse disproves that belief. I believe as breeders we are the most positive people in the world  wub
