well he record couldn't be much better could it?? that may be due to placement as much as ability, she will be too short for me and can't see any value in her, she also has plenty of weight,  in saying that she will pobably win! I realise my answer is a bit like eachway betting but what can I tell you?? I couldn't take a short price with a 3kg apprentice on

I personally thought the claim was the right thing to do in this instance, Nester is a good rider but obviously prone to the odd mistake like most, not his fault this race though just bad luck i think, similar with Shinn and St Augustine.

the likes of Jake Noonan, Tim Bell, Ben Vasillio (spelling?) and a few others are good claimers there's plenty of bad ones aswell i suppose but I tend to look at a jockey individually if i know enough about them.

Just one of my rules that I do not back 3kg apprentices regardless, even well know apprentices I need the odds in my favour to back them, there are a  lot of well respected fully fledged jockeys that I avoid as well.
I am also very careful about backing the Top riders at the Provincials and midweeks when the carnivals approach, their primary concern is not getting suspended rather than winning, doesn't help to say your horse was a certainty beaten does it? so sometimes I would rather a Jockey of lesser ability who has no big race prospects so winning the race that I have my money on is as important to him as it is to me

Beaten in a photo, I think the winner may have had spurs on too, they cover up the Jockeys feet with Tote info, a bloody pain!

rated the "not a snip a doubt , riebeek " race strongly - trying them 1,2 or 1,3 in a F4


Didn't back up on this - backed both of them though(more the 2nd ) - find strong form races and they continue to pay off
