I was going to have 2 $100 bets today, Muir in the first in Melbourne and they bet $3.7 much better than I expected, then I was waiting for my next bet in the last in Sydney, Landlocked, they interviewed Graham Begg and he said his horse will "just Win" he was very confident so I had $50 on him at $7.60 the horse was Secret Admirer it won!! Then they interviewed Anthony Cummings about Turnstiles in the next, he said "call me Graham" referring to Graham Beggs tip in the previous race, said if it was as good as he thought it was it should win, I had $50 on him at $8, he was never going  to get beaten!
Up $950 without doing any work!!
I should quit now, shouldn't I?? but I won't, gotta back Landlocked for the original $100

Gee the trainers are on fire today, Mick Price just tipped Aloha and she always looked the winner, didn't back her though the heavy track worried me,

I have $400 about him in the Cup, I actually asked Betfair to put him in their markets, have him going for $8,000 for $20 outlay, I don't really expect him to win, but he isn't any $400 chance, I have backed 6 Zabeels that were $200 or more, the rest I will back if they make the field, I have $50 on Zavite @ $200, $20 on Berlioz(unbeaten at Flemington I think?) @ $600 and $20 on Maluckyday @ $400 then I have $5 on Scouting Wide and Macedonian both @ $1000
outlay of $120, may lay some off if they firm enough to warrant it

For a bloke who obviously does a fair bit of form I find it an odd thing Jim to have a bet because a trainer said it would win  chin

Sort of defeats the purpose?

GT I don't usually listen to them but was a little bored waiting for Landlocked, it was a long time between the first at Betfair Park and the last at Canterbury, trainers are not usually "That" Confident, they didn't say they would be hard to beat, they stated categorically that they "would win" plus the price was quite acceptable on both, I was just lucky, I bet because I enjoy it, not just for the money, I am not as disciplined as I have been in the past, I don't do as much serious form Study as in the past either, there is a large difference in doing it for the enjoyment and doing it for the money as far as the time input goes, for me to be serious I have to be at the races and see what I am backing, from home it is more about relaxation, for the most part I am a $20 Punter, yesterday I thought Muir and Landlocked were pretty good things, when Muir won at a much better price than I anticipated  it enticed me to invest on the Graham Begg's tip, when that won and Anthony Cummings was very confident I backed that as well, (Mick Price was also very confident about Aloha as well but it was short price on a wet track so I gave it a miss and it also won) Maybe I should listen more intently in future??

Jim - it wasn't a criticism, more an observation, you obviously know the form quite well & I didn't take you for someone who would be influenced by what a trainer had to say  Undecided

In saying that there is a handful of trainers who talk fairly 'straight' imho, Mick Price is one  Thumb Up
