The new sensation from New Zealand, prompted even IntheGig from asking the question : Is this the best ever pacer from New Zealand? Isn't this what was said about Changeover only a couple of years ago?
Would need to win at least 1 Interdominion. Also, I've only seen it lead and win, can it come from behind? Anway it has tongues wagging over there, would be great to see in Oz next year.

"Auckland Reactor confirmed his early favouritism for New Zealand Harness Horse of the Year honours when he trounced his rivals in sizzling national record time for all-comers in the Group One New Zealand Pacing Derby at Addington tonight Friday 4 April.
The freakish son of burgeoning siring sensation Mach Three and Atomic Lass (Soky's Atom), sire also of gutsy third place getter Fiery Falcon, also won the Gr 1 Sires’ Stakes Final on the course in November and remains unbeaten after 10 starts.
Auckland Reactor led over the last 1100 metres to win the 2600 metre mobile feature untouched in an incredible 3:9.4. Auckland Reactor easily eclipsed the national 3 Year Old record of 3:11.1 set by the mighty Holmes D G who was trained by Barry Purdon, the older brother of Auckland Reactor’s co trainer and driver Mark Purdon.
Auckland Reactor was only 9/10 ths of a second off Desperate Comment's National Record of 3:8.5 set in 1995.
Purdon and training partner Grant Payne now have the Southern Supremacy Stakes and the Harness Jewels as designated late season missions for their unbeaten star who is now being acclaimed as at least the equal of former great second season pacers Christian Cullen, Courage Under Fire, Changeover and Elsu.
The absurd ease with which Auckland Reactor has compiled his winning streak of 10 has made an indelible impression on race goers who have been quick to acclaim him a true champion of his age group.
Mark Purdon has referred to him as the “3-Year-Old that feels and acts like a 5-Year-Old.’’

Is this the possibly the best horse to ever run in Australasia? I doubt we'll find out. Looks like he has Millions being thrown at him from the states.

wow 25.9!
In the Gig tonight mentioned all sorts of offers for the horse. A new one is from Canadian Stud interests. They are keen because Auckland Reactor's sire Mach Three was a champion youngster and has done very well breeding as well.

It's obviously a bloody good horse, but why the hell do they let it just stroll to the lead all the time? Coming home in 54 but a 2.00.7 mile rate what the hell was happening that first lap?

Baggers,
Who in their right mind would want to take the horse on though.
I tell you what if a driver took it on with one of my horses I would be so shitty knowing full well that the horse is 50m better than my horse.
A lot of good horses win races using their reputations and not always their ability!!!

It's a good point though. When it comes here for the big races I don't think the Aussie drivers will simply let it stroll to the front. Then we'll see if it can win parked in death or off the pace.
But the buzz is great for Harness racing.

I know mostly only hype, but I know some good judges that seem to think maybe one of the best 3yo's in the world let alone this area

Baggers...
Thats the mile rate for 2700m and not the last mile (eg 66.7 first half and 54 last half)..
Think you will find 2.00 over that distance anywhere is low flying....I think Ballarat runs 2710m and track record is 1.58 something...
Did watch the replay and stupid kiwi caller couldn't manage to fit not one of the 1/4's in....Lucky there was no sponsored sprint lane also which Dan, Craig and Lachie always manage to fit in...That bloke would have had no hope...

That was a big win but seriously, he didn't beat much. The Pinkstwotter won off 40m recently at HP lol

I saw him have the run of the race and he was lucky to beat Monkey King 2 starts back and was full tilt to beat Changeover.
That obviously makes him a good horse, NZ's best but I ain't falling into this champion stuff.

They've dodged the Miracle mile and the Inter doms and Monkey king and Baileys Dream don't think they're up to it either.

Nice horse but still has a lot to prove, firstly by front up to the best over here.

Frankly I don't think he'll lay a glove on Melpar Major

yeah a lucky 1.53.5 win. Don't you hate it when they walk and win.  rolleyes

and was full tilt to beat Changeover.

oh yeah he struggled to beat it by 11m coming home in a lesurely 54.4 in a 1.54.0 dead rate for 2000m. another bludging effort.  rolleyes

I suppose when you consider Wily thinks I Am Sam is up to the best in the country it's no wonder I read the delusions above.

By the way, if you saw the race you would have seen AR on the fence inside Monkey King. He was blocked in until  he forced himself off the fence and MK lost considerable ground before making a late charge and losing by a whisker.

Lucky, yep wink

this is Auckland Reactor "struggling"  lol  to beat changeover by 2.75 lengths.

Here is Wily's delusional idea of an unlucky monkey king who eased (not checked) by the driver to get the sit for the extra 400m because guess what anyone who knows anything about monkey king knows it goes best when saved for a short sharp sprint. The drive was designed to get AR out to give it a trail all the way to the straight. Was a brilliant drive.

Your the elusional one

MK got up within a neck of AR before your claim that the driver then wanted the sit.

Ridiculous assertion.

AR forced it's way off the fence and checked MK. In no way was it designed to flush him out. If it was he would not have got within a neck he would have got to the sulky instead
