This thread is for the RIDE OF THE WEEK in Brisbane and SE Qld tracks.

It doesn't have to be a good ride - but one that's attracted your attention.

Brisbane's been the nursery for some of Australia's best jockeys - although most "experts" would argue that they don't really get to be champions until they get to Sydney or Melbourne.

The rider of this one does OK. wink

5   GRACESYND  10.70 3.00

Even though Luke Dittman was on a odds on pop I thought he handled Mr Slick very well

The pocket may rule the head but considering the conditions it was a cracker of a ride...

Not sure whether the award should go to the horse or the rider, but I doubt Morgalicious could have won without the persistent persuasion from SHANE SCRIVEN in the 2nd at GC, Saturday.

Anyone who backed her should share the spoils with SS, IMO

Comment on the Morgalicious result from Graham Potter's site:

WINNER FEEDBACK:
Trainer Barry Baldwin: “She’s pretty consistent. She’s only a small little thing and she is a pretty nervous filly. She deserved the win, but I think it’s fair to say the ride won the race. Instead of persevering where he was not getting anywhere Shane (Scriven) knew where he had to go and he got out to the better going.
“Are you alright?”

The question was put to Shane Scriven who was standing bent over, trying to regain his breath after dismounting from the winner.

Jockey Shane Scriven: “At the top of the straight I thought she was going to win. But I got into her and got into her and not enough was happening. I thought it was gone. She was never going to get there. Then, three strides from the line she changes gears and gets up to win – but not before she’s got me totally spent. And she has cut herself to pieces again Barry (Baldwin). Maybe that’s why she doesn’t go so well on the turn.”
Trainer Barry Baldwin: “I’ll have to try and work out something special with the bandaging. Whatever way I try to protect her she still seems to cut herself.”

I was thinking of Rob Thompsons ride on Pepperwood but Southport was a good one Thumb Up

The followers of Wayne wilson's blackbookers would have had a nice collect on Southport.  Then again I might be the only one that follows WW's tips biggrin

Cannot put them all in .

I actually cannot even think as to where I posted those BBs on Saturday but I'm sure it was Wayne that put it in his column.

I'm giving ROTW to Ms Amy Taylor for her win on Doug's Mate in the second at the Farm today.

The mare has always shown promise but has tested the patience of many, and hadn't won for 12 months.  Amy gave the mare a nice run towards the tail, and had to change course when making her run on the turn.  She kept her mount balanced, and finished too well for Pentacity who look set to score after making a searching run from the 700.
