Sundays wouldn't be the same without racing at Corbould Park, Caloundra.

It's SE Qld's newest track, and is home to Qld's first Cushion Track.

Caloundra currently races on around 70 dates each year, and will soon be a night venue for Saturday (and maybe Sunday) fixtures.

Let's keep this thread for comments on racing at Sunshine Coast.

Stewards had a talk with Ms Harrison after the last:

Stewards questioned T. Harrison, rider of SQUARE UP, and stable representative Mrs S. Harden, regarding the tactics adopted on that gelding, particularly between the 600m and the 100m. Of particular concern to stewards was Miss Harrison's failure to shift wider on the track when approaching the 400m to improve into the race when an opportunity appeared for her to do so. Furthermore, that when leaving the 400m, Miss Harrison remained in a position following KOLO when it appeared she had opportunity to shift wider on the track to secure clear running, and also that after having obtained clear running from the 300m she failed to ride vigorously between that point and the 200m when tightened for room between PASSIVITY and DAMALO, which shifted in. Miss Harrison explained that prior to the 400m she had hoped to ride for luck and secure clear running between runners as she was of a mind that the racing pattern of the day had been for horses to shift away from the fence prior to straightening, which would have availed her clear running. She further added that she was still hopeful of securing clear running to the inside of KOLO between the 400m and 300m. She then explained that after leaving the 300m she was reluctant to push between runners as she was concerned that the runner immediately to her outside, that being DAMALO, had a tendency to lay in. Stewards advised Miss Harrison that they accepted her explanation for not shifting wider on the track prior to the 400m, however her riding from that point lacked judgment in that in similar circumstances she would be expected to make greater effort to afford her mounts clear running at this stage of the race, and furthermore that when clear running is afforded to her, she would be expected to ride with more vigour to afford her mounts every possible chance. In considering this matter, stewards took into account Miss Harrison's relative inexperience as an apprentice and took no further action.

Can't see a lot of stars at SC tonight.

We should be able to kick off the weekend with MARCULOO in the opener.

This steed re-appears at GC Race 6.

Watch it very, very, closely.  Great Idea

We'll give Mr Browne another chance on MR MOTO today.

Can only be improvement on last effort.

Not picked by 4TAB in their top 4.
