Sunny one day, raining the next

I realise there's a thread elsewhere on weather...but Brisbane seems more likely than elsewhere to have sudden changes that will affect track ratings.

Also, we have some Members who live close by the Brissie tracks and can give regular - and maybe even informed - updates, and predictions of track conditions.

Hopefully, there's enough interest to justify a thread for Brisbane (and surrounds).  If not, we can ditch it.

Yeah, Grega.  On non-racedays.  lol   Many a bream, whiting and flathead have been hauled in.

Actually there's a small fish lying on the deck this morning.  Dunno if it was a victim of yesterday's weather, or manna from heaven. chin

Looking at 5 day forecasts for GC and SC it looks like the tracks will be dead or slow at the weekend. Is that a fair assessment?

SW, the system seems to have moved inland and is dissipating.  If we keep getting occasional squalls on the coasts I s'pose the tracks will remain soft.  I wouldn't be making any predictions right now, though.

SW

All fine at the moment.  Low 30s temp and humidity remains in the 60s I'd guess.

Both Coast tracks should be no worse than DEAD, IMO, providing no more rain. chin

Plenty of rain over Brisbane and the coasts overnight.  I suspect some will have got to Caloundra so stay tuned for changes to track and track conditions at SC. unsure

Would have been this morning I guess, trainers would have been notified before scratching time

Looking at the airport rainfalls, the Brisbane tracks would have had less than 40 mm overnight and today.

Lucky they're not 20 km to the north.

Apparently the Brisbane tracks have had around 100 mm.

All the dams are full, so the track staff should be pleased. Thumb Up

Showers over the Brissie tracks this morning.

No threat to racing at EF tomorra, but looks like we'll be on a SLOW track at best.

I'm always glad to see the rain DD & it's got to be good for the guys on track with a  lot of the dams full.

Lets hope there are no big down pours overnight.

Has been quite fine this afternoon, Kato.  Should not be too bad tomorra with general clear skies for now. unsure
