I deliberatately named it as I did so that I (and maybe others) could quickly locate it.

"Retro" is short for "retrograde".

So this thread is now about Brickbats and Bouquets for jockeys in decline, those whose careers are coming to an end.

What it all comes down to is, which jockeys were unlucky and which one were lucky. 

It is impossible to judge jockeys on these tight turning tracks other than to judge their LUCK. Except their BALANCE. 

Flemington is the only reasonably fair track we have in this country. To think otherwise is to be in denial. 

I think it's a lot more than luck.  It's reasonable, IMO, to express a view about a jockey's good or bad rides.  No one's suggesting they be shot at dawn.  Well, I'm not.
