Bouquet to Mark Shean Race 6 Thumb Up
Gave warning of the possibility of Smart Punch winning if he got a run, and left himself with time to switch back to him if he did so.

Although listening to the replay, he did preface it by saying "maybe".

Hilt..........take notice.

I have always said there is absolutely no point in calling anything past the placegetters.

Except of course to tickle some dingbat punters fancy.

Sporty

Did you see the race?  If so, who did you think won?

Personally, I thought Linear had won, as did every other person I spoke to.

It's been discussed before - but let's reflect on the fact that racecallers are not JUDGES.  They're not infallible - but they're right in photos 99% of the time.  WW's call today was one in which he was incorrect.  If we fail to recognise that the only numbers that count are the ones the Judge puts up then we shouldn't be punting.

Let me also say that immediately WW saw the replay he urged caution and indicated he was uncertain.

Wilson and Thomas call EF from horror positions.  I wouldn't swap them their jobs.

Here's a shot taken from WW's box at EF.

I'd hate to be calling a nose decision on the fly, particularly when horses are off the rails. wacko
