JOCKEY Naomi Parker was yesterday suspended for three months after testing positive to cannabis.

Parker returned a positive urine sample to cannabis when randomly tested at Stawell on December 6. She pleaded guilty yesterday to having a prohibited substance in her system.

Racing Victoria Ltd stewards, led by chief stipe Terry Bailey, suspended Parker from December 17, when she was stood down from riding, until March 17.

Bailey said Parker was able to resume riding trackwork and trials when she provided a urine sample free of cannabis.

He said every jockey in the state would be drug-tested two or three times a year, and those with a history of drug-use more often.
