Morphettville Races Report
The win of the Keltrice five year old mare Li'l Cashy, from the Night Shift mare Camicia, gave trainer David Balfour and apprentice Claudia Lions a two and a half length victory in 1050 metre opening event at Morphettville on Saturday.
Starting at $6 Li'l Cashy was well placed and beat Cairngorm the $2 favourite and the winner of his previous three starts for trainer John Dunn and rider Ben Claridge. Trainer Richard Jolly and jockey Chad Lever supplied Goondi $31 who was a length away third.

Jockey Chad Lever and mentor Richard Jolly brought up the first of their respective doubles when the $2 ,80 public elect Asoclti was the two and a half length winner of the second race which was run over 2500 metres.

From the Centaine mare Centabilty and sired by Distant Music, Asoclti was mid field for a great part of the distance event before going on to beat the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas prepared Clare Lindop piloted last start winner The Moon Day $5. A farther half neck away third was Humaway $8.50 for Byron Cozamanis and Jason Benbow,

Riding for Murray Bridge based trainer Stuart Padman apprentice Libby Hopwood brought up the first leg of a double when she guided the Testa Rossa sired five year old Testate $4 to a long neck win in the 1200 metre third event.

Being out of the Kings Theatre mare Lauras's World and missing the start for the second successive time Testate eventually settled third before going on to beat the Deon Koch trained Dean Holland ridden Woofnoof $6. Sandhill Brave $21 was two lengths away third for Sam Turner and apprentice Tellie Neve.
Jockey Dean Holland was celebrating his 21th birthday when he guided the Mark Minervini trained Chief of Staff $6.50 to a one and a quarter length win the 1200 metre fourth race.

Sired by General Nediym from the Danehill mare Naareda, Chief of Staff was well placed and beat the Rod Lepley care for Gary Hoobin guided Khaptivaano $21. Bob's Shout $15 was a length away third for Roslyn Day and Adrian Patterson.

Jockey Ben Clarirdge and trainer Daniel Clarken were seen in the winner's enclosure for the first time when the King Cugat sired four year old mare Showusyourcugats, from the Charmwood Forest mare Your Own Good, was the two and a quarter length winner of the fifth event which was contested over 1200 metres.

A $5 chance at barrier rise Showusyourcugats was not very far off the pace for the entire journey and recorded the win over the David Jolly cared for Paul Gatt piloted Star Of The Stalls $8. Watch The Fence $61 was another half length away third for William Smart and Simon Price.

The newly elected president of the SA branch of the Australian Trainers Association Richard Jolly prepared his second winner for the afternoon when Very Discreet, the $4 equal favourite with the second placegetter Augusta Proud, was the half length winner of the listed W H Wylie Handicap which was run over 1100 metres.

Having the services of Adrian Patterson the four year old daughter of Exceed And Excel, from the Euclase mare She's Discreet, Very Discreet was not sighted in the early stages but made her bid for victory just after the home turn. Very Discreet beat the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas cared for Clare Lindop mount Augusta Proud. La Goulue $7.50 was another three quarters of a length away third for Caulfield trainer Peter Moody and rider Jason Benbow.
Jolly said after the win of Very Discreet that he will look a suitable race over the Melbourne spring Carnival although he has already pencilled in the $150,000 mares race on VRC Oaks Day at Flemington.

Jockey Chad Lever brought up a double and co-trainers Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas quinellaed the Listed Lindsay Park Guineas of 1600 metres when Majestic Music $11 held a three length advantage over her stablemate Miss With Attitude, the $3.50 equal favourite with fourth placegetter Salinas, when the judge was reached.

From the Royal Academy matron Regal Flute and sired by Al Maher Majestic Music was always in the first four. Another two and a quarter lengths away third was the $9.50 change My Amici for Jon O'Connor and Ben Claridge.

Majestic Music is likely to be tilted towards the 1600 metre Edward Manifold Stakes at Flemington on October 2.

Trainer Daniel Clarken and jockey Ben Claridge brought up their double when the winner of The Most Consistent Horse of Last Season award winner in the City, Dynamic Hero $5-50 was the long head winner of the 1600 metre Tokyo City Cup.

Being out of a Nijinsky's Way mare Dynamic Lady the Bellotto gelding Dynamic Hero came from a rearward position and defeated the Byron Cozamanis prepared Troy Baker ridden Finniss Storm $12. A nose away third was the $71 chance Blue Maggich for Barry Dunn and Paul Gatt.

Dynamic Hero could be headed towards the Group One Toorak Handicap of 1600 metre at Caulfield on October 10 and the 1600 metre Emirates at Flemington on November 7.

Apprentice Libby Hopwood kept her number one ranking on the City jockeys premiership when she brought up a double on the John Macmillan trained Keltah $26 who scored a three quarters of a length win in the final event of 1800 metres giving his sire Keltrice the bookends for the meeting.

Being out of the Swooping mare Tivoli Queen, Keltah came from well back in the field and beat Ballistic Ruler $12 for mentor Cos Kelly and Craig Robertson. A farther half neck away third was Cocojet $21 for Terry and Karina O'Sullivan and Clare Lindop.

Anyone catch that first 2yo winner in Adelaide? Stirling Grove, a Mossman. Won by 9 lengths?

Hard to know what he was beating, but looked super impressive  Thumb Up
