Slumdog Millionaire is a movie I recommend to anyone who likes something out of the ordinary.set in Mumbai it has all the ingredients to be an award winner and you won't be disappointed with it. Thumb Up

Last week saw Up in the Air. The story suits current times (many people getting retrenched and jobs hard to come by). Clooney and some funny moments make this watchable, just.

Watched The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo last night - good movie - not sure it lives up to the hype [hadn't read any of the books]. But it's definitely worth watching. 2.5 hrs with subtitles will put some off. US remake in the pipeline.

Totally agree Steve M, brilliant movie, well worth watching, very close to the book

Part 1 of a trilogy, be easier if the next two are in English  smiley

Saw Harry Brown yesterday, Michael Caine terriffic actor but while the movie has its moments I doubt if it will win any awards.
Very depressing settings, a public housing block invested with criminal youth who intimidate and terrorise residents especially Harry's mate Len.
When Harry goes to get "tooled up" things  move along quickly although hard to imagine the two low lifes could look as shitty as these two are portrayed.
If you can tolerate a fair measure of bad language and violence its worth seeing.
I'd give Harry the man 10/10 and Michael Caine the same. thumbsup

Watched it quite a while ago mate,

So my memory is a little hazy, but from memory totally enjoyed his performance, and the movie, even though it is not your typical hollywood, bash em up, blow em up, tough man hero, car chase style movie

I think Inception will either be completely crap or completely awesome. No middle ground for this one.
