Can anyone offer up a top 3 or so of good movies that are probably on hire as recently released video / dvd's worth watching while on holidays. Drama and or Family the favoured choice. I'll sift back through this thread for some ideas but any suggestions most welcome. Many thanks in advance.

777, I thought Inception was a masterpiece. Just to have a moviemaker create that world in his mind and put it on screen was an incredible achievement. Currently ranked 6th on the greatest movie of all time list on IMDB, splitting Pulp Fiction and Schindler's List. So somebody thinks it goes ok.

If your kids are in to Facebook (not sure how old they are) then Social Network is a gem. And it's even better for adults showing how a snotty nosed 20 year old nerd developed an idea into a $30 billion dollar monster. But I just realised it probably isn't ready for hire yet.

I haven't seen it but I'm told How to Train your Dragon is a cracker. Animated but great for adults and kids. And obviously the King of animated features is Toy Story. Number 3 is out on DVD and is brilliant. Hope this helps.

This is one well worth looking for Walter Matthau as a small time bank robber ........"Charley Varrick"........or "Kill Charley Varrick"

Not one for the kids, but I just watched Goodfellows again.  Second best gangster movie ever imo with Godfather by far the best.

Godfather 2 is a short half head behind Godfather 1 and they are lengths clear of the field

Watched Secretariat tonight - I enjoyed it - but thought it would have been better without the Disney treatment - oversold the human & undersold the equine.

Still well worth seeing.
