Not a 'movie that matters' but I saw Did hear about the Morgans yesterday, good for a laugh and mind numbing but the best bit, went Gold Class for the 1st time  thumbsup

Not sure why you would ever go any other way, had Salt and Pepper squid brought to us as the movie started with drinks, had a cofffee brought towards the middle  thumbsup

I was impressed  beer

Pay for the ticket OL  unsure

We actually had a gift voucher which we used so made for a cheaper day, dropped Ruby at the in-laws and went to Castle Hill.

Either way it was only $25 a ticket plus food and drinks. When you consider normally it's around $17 (other than cheap Tuesday) I didn't think it was too bad. Plenty of room, reclining leather chair etc and no chance of some boofhead blocking your view.

We had Salt and Pepper squid ($14) and I'd have it again. All the other prices seemed reasonable, you could even have beer / champers etc but we just had a soft drink and coffee.

The one movie that stands out for me up till now is ---Grand Canyon---one of Steve Martin's "serious"  movies--the meaning I got from it was---each of us on our own are really "ants" in the big world---go to the Grand Canyon--and you will see why this is the case. Our problems are not such a big deal in the "big picture" and can all be sorted eventually.

I watched Samson and Delilah last night. Not sure why this film got the wraps it did. 2/5 IMO. A grim tale, but a boring one, found myself fast forwarding most of the last 20mins to see if anything happened....nothing did. Little Fish is much better and just as grim.

You're right Chalky, they could have easily condensed it to under 90 minutes.
But back in those days it was great to be at the movies for a few hours as thre was bugger all else to do.

I took Young Larsy to see The Princess And The Frog on New Year Day.
I was counting every one of those 97 minutes down  lol

Have never seen any English versions Guv...despite the face it contained Jude Law I found it entirely watchable. Dare I say it - even entertaining !

Up In The Air - I enjoyed it...but Oscar worthy...not sure about that. Bottome line - overrated.

Fantastic Mr Fox...pretty cussing good
