One that doesn't matter and you should avoid - Young Adult.

Good for 90% then wound up in an awfully big hurry. Like they ran out of money / went over budget or something.....
Charlize Theron was excellent as main character but gee it finished up real quick leaving you feeling like you had chinese an hour before........wanting more!

Man on a Ledge won't win any oscars IMO.....but thrills and spills a plenty....excellent stunts.....and  interesting story line although so far fetched to be unbelieveable......big surprise B C & C thought it worthy of VMax......... showing it  in upmarket  big capacity threatre probably less than 5% patronage today at reduced $11 admission......usually $19.50 whereas ordinary screens are only $8 Tuesdays. Shrug

What a sence of humour CH7 has, yesterday on the day that Kalajzich was released from jail after serving 25years for arranging the murder of his wife they showed the 2001 movie of the murder and trial,I don't watch Australian movies or shows (only some reality shows}  but I thought this movie was well acted by all in it,Kalajzich is living with his sister and will still try to clear his name.

With the current interest generated by Black Caviar it has been enjoyable to watch Secretariat and Sea Biscuit on Foxtel this week. Really enjoyed the Secretariat movie, based on a true story of the triple crown winning horse in the States. Has probably been mentioned elsewhere but i really enjoyed it.

I couldn't bring myself to watch Snowtown owing to the fact I passed through the town a couple of months after the barrels were found and there was a very uneasy feeling of the place, the bank is now for sale on E Bay with movie props in the place I heard. shocked

Congratulations to the ABC for their recent offerings on Saturday nights on ABC2.  On the Waterfront, Midnight Cowboy, Terms of Endearment, Rosemary's Baby... fabulous films, commercial free.

This week they have turned away from Hollywood to present two really beautiful Australian films :  Geoffrey Rush in Shine and Eric Bana in Romulus My Father.

Romulus has be one of the most beautifully photographed Australian films I have ever seen and I was stunned to learn it was directed by Richard Roxburgh - who knocked my socks off just the other night with his admirable portrayal of Bob Hawke.  What a talent he is.  It would have been so easy to portray Hawke in characticture but Roxburgh pulled it off brilliantly as a portrayal rather than an impersonation.

Hold your head up Australia.  We've come along way from Barry MacKenzie.

Saw The Artist today very good entertainment IMO...a lot different to what we are used to ....... back in the 1920's and early 30's the end of silent movies and the start of talkies.

Wonderful  scene ...... art deco in all it's glory.................marvellous American autos from that era ......and classic retro wardrobes for all the players.   noteworthy

Top dancing moves from Jean Dujardin and the beautiful Berenice Bejo and good casting John Goodman as the studio head.

Try and get along to see it...very good experience.

Saw Margin Call today about the beginning of GFC and the money grubbers who caused it.....Kevin Spacey true to life wearing braces instead of a belt (just like Michael Douglas in Wall Street 20 years ago) had the main role with Jeremy Irons and Demi Moore not looking too bad for her age ...but while the movie held my attention it was a very strange abrupt ending. I wouldn't rate it as highly as the review I saw which rated it Oscar material.

The players were a lot of unlikeables IMO.....rate it 3 stars tops. shocked

This is a movie that should appeal to the elderly and those who expect to reach that status over time.

All actors have lots of miles on the clock.....and some excellent lines and rejoinders.....and scenary noise and colour a plenty. thumbsup

Bill Nighy and Judy Dench and Maggie Smith are the main players with good support from the other travellers.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.......not to be missed.

Just watched Superheroes on Go, was a brilliant comedy. Leslie Nielsen was very good (as usual). Hadn't seen it before, but it was great.
