Anyone that has horses metro trained would know about these unofficial trials that are held on regular basis.
Why isn't there or is there?? an independant site or at least someone out there who can produce the results - granted they may mean very little because they are just trials but it does give an indication as to which horses are coming up for racing and how they maybe travelling.

I know what you mean della. I have long been an advocate of Official Metro trials in Victoria, but trainers etc seem to like the 'jumpouts'.
I know 'jumpouts' are cheaper for trainers/owners but from a punting perspective why there aren't any official metro trials is beyond me.
Hopefully Terry Bailey can get something happening on this.

and why should you ..... do you pay the bills of any of the triallers ? If not, then you are entitled to nothing ..... trial form is just that btw ..... A TRIAL ...... |

I agree Woody, i think it is about time the money that comes from the tote and other forms of betting on the thoroughbreds was given to where it is really needed, our health services and education departments. Not to a leisure sport.  |

Very clever Authorised. I suggest you bet on operations at the surgery ( dead or alive ) and VCE exam results instead then. Rivetting action that's worth every cent of your gambling dollar.
The fact is that jumpouts can be ridden by Joe Blogg at 75kg and only be serious for the first two furlongs. What exactly are you going to decipher from that?

Woody's point is certainly pertent, if your not paying the bills your not really entitled to the info but I guess on the flip side the majority of prizemoney is derived from the tote ie punters. If punters don't have the confidence then they aren't going to bet.
So the answer isn't as clear cut as some would think.
What's your reasoning for loving them so much Sladey?

Gintara, it really only applies to ONE start of a horse's career, their initial start and punters can watch the market for moves. It also depends what stable the horses are in, if the trainer is underrated then punters can often overlook a first starter from them.

With todays reasonably high prizemoney, i think the idea of owners plunging on newcomers strange. Why take the risk with extra cash when if you win the prizemoney will be quite substantial anyway ?
Singleton is reported to have had $100,000 on More Joyous to win the Slipper, why would you risk that sort of outlay ?

Authorized, in these times if a horse is in a large syndicate the 'reasonably high' prizemoney may not be passed onto the owners. In these times the owners may wish to have a large bet.

For some people beating up a bookie is their only chance for a physical involvement in their favourite sport. They can't ride, train or even muck out a box ( and are most likely scared of horses ) but they can pay the bills. Why not get an extra thrill from sending Graeme Sampieri to the cleaners? It's a lot more thrilling that waiting by the mailbox for a cheque from the postman.

brother not even if you me and all the people on this forum put there 50 each way on with sampieri you would not even go close to doing that dont forget that only one horse wins the race dude he collects on all the others what think they horse will win the rest is true but |
