Brisbane's Racing RadioTAB has reported that after 10 months, and 50 winners, in Macau, Larry Cassidy is returning home to Sydney.

He rode his 2000th career winner while in Macau, and he is confident he can quickly get back to prominence in Sydney.

Can't get a ride with the small fields and no backing from a major stable in Sydney, Racenet reports that he's headed to Brisbane to do his riding.  Wonder why not Melbourne

Westie it might have something to do with his wife having family up here.

He will be welcomed up here.  Colless and co need some genuine competition to keep them on their toes.

Larry has always ridden well up here at carnival time and  he has had support from local trainers in the past
Provided he works hards and doesn't expect to many favours up here he should go well.
I suppose he can still carnival hop during the group races but use Brisbane as his base.

Good luck to him...hope he goes well.

Talking to someone the other day who concentrates on Brisbane alone he stated if a jock with any sort of ability came up to Qld they would clean up.

Larry may just make it interesting.

Thanks,
Larrys moving there to win the premiership next season and a few of the leading trainers suggested he talk to me.
I was happy to hear that and look forward to our association.

Update on L Cassidy,
Larry's been riding work in Brisbane over the last week and had a pipe opener this morning with 6 barrier trials.
His first day of riding under my care will be EF Saturday where at the moment he has a full book of 8 rides.
Sunshine Coast Sunday 5 rides and Doomben Monday 6 rides.
                                                                                                 Cheers Gallopers.
