Weekend Hussler fans can get set already for the Flemington Newmarket.

38379

WEEKEND HUSSLER

$8.50

$2.87

Apparently the horse worked a treat the other day.

You would think the Newmarket distance may be too short but he is all class.

yeah could do,
im finding it really diffucult to split all those 3 year old form last season for this years newmarket, Meteor, fists of fury, aichi, deusetude duporth and so on, i guess it all depends on weights now

From my understanding of the Hussler prep, he wasn't heading towards the Newmarket this year.  I thought it was the Lightning, the Australia Stakes, the Futurity and then overseas.  It's not really too short for him, considering he won it last year.

The Newmarket will generally suit a 1400-1600M horse.

Who knows...he may not run in this but if he does and the race still a couple of months down the track I thought these odds were fair.

I used to think that TCE, but now I am not so sure.  The fact that there are no turns nor undulations makes me think it is not quite the stamina test that some believe.  Plus the race is often weighted as a quality so you don't get the capacity fields you used too and so the pace is  often not that hot.  Not saying you want something that just gets 1200, but I don't think you need 1400-1600m horses.

Surely he would get over 60kg?

Surely in a "group 1" race he'll get WFA.
