Think this Guy deservers his own thread yeh ?? Ran 56.3 on a dead track and demolished what I thought was a handy sprinter in Azzaland On a good track he runs at least 55.8 i guess ??

What was the name of that good sprinter up there that loved the 900 at the Coast? I think won one of the group sprints at Randwick and also performed well in Melbourne

BB isnt even close to a Group 1 horse. In his last 2 starts he has beaten, Let Loushe, Happy Glen, Zero Rock and Forestrino which are barely listed class if at all.
We have already seen what happens when he takes on the good ones. Good honest horse but no where near top class which is probably why we didnt see him in the Spring until all the best sprinters were put away.

All Silent, Scenic Blast, Apache Cat, Ortensia, Daneleigh would be genuine Group 1 1200m horses.
Swiss Ace, Nicconi, Mic Mac & Black Caviar on the next rung down.
I suspect in 12 months Black Caviar may have them all covered.
Edit Lucky Secret should be included in that 2nd group just below the top liners.

Wouldn't a valid definition of Group 1 sprinters be "Horses recognised as sprinters that have competed in a Group 1 sprint"?

Yeah, no one would argue about those, Antitab. That's the easy bit.
But are they gonna win every Group 1 sprint for the foreseeable future?
My question is: If BB isn't a Group 1 sprinter waiting in the wings, who is?
Until that question is answered, the assessment of BB has no cred.

Given that he is a 5 year old and hasnt won a Group 1 race yet, I would suggest to see him as a future group 1 winner lacks credibility. Very few if any sprinters win their first Group 1 as a 6 year old. That gives him the Autumn to achieve it.
He has had one try at Group 1 and failled. He has shown no signs of being able to match it with it the Scenic Blasts, Apache Cats etc and now he has to also worry about a good crop of sprinting 3 year olds such as Irish Lights, Black Caviar and Denman.
Very good horse but still significantly below the best.

Granted, the odds are against him, given he has to travel etc etc. Plus, his style of racing will always make him a sitting duck.
But I'd back him against anything up the straight over 1100 at level weights.
I think it's premature to sack him as a Group 1 winner because of his Newmarket failure.
He certainly won't be winning a Straddy. But he might ensure a race record.

The guys from NQ who own BB are the most unassuming characters you'll see. Tom and his son flew down from Ingham on Saturday morning, turned up at Dbn for the race, had several drinks afterwards, and were off for the 7pm plane home.
Tom would be in his mid-70s I'd say, but looks like he'll go on forever. What joy it must be to have a horse like BB.
Tom wasn't too impressed by the fact that he had to buy a suitcase in Melbourne to bring home the trophy after his Flemington win.
It might have been mentioned elsewhere, but BB's dam Winsome Blue died the day BB won in Melbourne.

When I see Oakleigh Plate I think to myself he's got no hope but I mean if Swiss Ace can win one so can he imo.
