Courier Mail this morning reports intervention by Bob Bentley into track (cushion) issue in Toowoomba.

Bob has previously stated that QR has made an offer to Toowoomba and it was up to them to accept or decline.

This mornings story indicates the offer is now accept OR lookout.

I read the article as threatening. mad

Also I query the cost of $10M.  I thought Sunshine Coast was $5M.
Is it inflation. Or Or Or (something else) no honest men aren't into that. nowink

Bob may have to carry out "dates blackmail" threat even with Cushion Track as most trainers are threatening to walk if it is installed. No trainers no racing on cushion.   lol

DD - this only highlights the questions asked by the Dixon (BRC), Dawson (BRC) & Peoples (Country).

Can you provide the link that goes to the FAQ published on the site which also provides some useful information.

Is this the right thread because the FAQ's just might provide some useful debate. You currently are being very selective  smiley

So vadim, did my service meet your needs?

And why is that someone with such a wealth of computing experience couldn't find the link?

And why do ya reckon I was being selective?  I referred to the Questions asked at QRL and the link I posted dealt with those Qs.

I asked the question on the Wadham Park thread but did not get any replies so I assume nobody knows who did the consultancy work ie due diligence on Wadham Park.

I don't believe the information has been provided anywhere.

Would have been one of Brisbane's large accounting firms, supported by engineers, valuers, etc etc etc.

Thanks DD, I googled and couldnt find anything. Just thought it unusual that on the FAQ area the question was asked who was employed but no answer was given. You would think the company would like to see it answered as well.

Amazing,  it is estimated that the handful of lawyers and their hangers on  cost $600,000 to date for the few days work it took for the Andrews v QRL fiasco to be argued while the total Directors fees for the 5 QRL Directors was only $242,000 odd for the whole year.

So who is getting overpaid rant

Arsenal

Only the good Lord knows what was in the mind of the questioner (re the QRL directors' expenses), but the way the item was shown in the annual report a sensible person could have concluded that the total payments were for "reasonable expenses".  The QRL Constitution provides for (i) fees and (ii) reasonable board-related expenses.  At least they've now been separated.  IMO, they should be shown separately in the Report.

 Dubbles

I don't suppose  the question  was motivated by any desire to increase the remuneration or extend the benefits.  smiley

Directors fees should be shown individually imo and usually are  shocked.

Had I been invited to  the meeting I would have  been tempted  to tap you on the shoulder and suggested you ask for further and better particulars.

Still thanks to your question we  are more informed than we might have been. thumbsup

Not that it'll do us any good as far as I can see.  beer

From The Ear, in last Monday's C-M:

I DON'T want to make light of something which is very serious to many racing people but you have to love Queensland Racing Limited's chief Builder Bob Bentley's resilience. BB hit the canvas again after Friday's Supreme Court judgment, which resulted in the election build-up for QRL's board scrapped at the cost of $600,000. BB is like an old prizefighter. After coming out of the main event – the 2005 Racing Inquiry – with a TKO loss, he has kept on fighting and copped more than few flush on the button. But he rolls on regardless taking on anyone who crosses his path – even his own board members. Unfortunately, the financial and emotional costs of BB's bouts have reached an embarrassing stage – a point I have repeatedly raised in the past three years. But at least he stands up in public and cops it. While I don't agree with him you do know where you stand. It is more than can be said for some ineffectual politicians and the usual gutless wonders in the racing world.

There may be some "gutless wonders" in racing but it is pretty hard to stand up to someone who has all the aces . . all the devious (loans/ grants/ club takeovers) tactics . . unlimited finance, legal resources etc etc . . I can only admire the "Country Racing" people who serve it up to Bentley . . and I hope that they don't get sick of bangong their heads against a brick wall
