According to QRL's press release Schreck has been appointed a CONSULTANT  he won't be full time going on that. Why they think they need someone  in this capacity is anyone's guess. Both the major players who will be interacting with him are jumping for joy, publicly anyway. Thumb Down

Appointment of Mr John Schreck as integrity consultant

Queensland Racing Limited (QRL) today announced Mr John Schreck’s appointment as a consultant to the integrity department as part of its ongoing commitment to ensure the highest standards of integrity in thoroughbred racing.

QRL’s director of integrity operations Mr Jamie Orchard said, “Like all successful organisations, QRL is committed to continually improving and Mr Schreck will assist us with that.”

“QRL is fortunate in having a young, enthusiastic and dedicated steward’s panel which will benefit greatly from Mr Schreck’s experience.

“Mr Schreck is well known to the industry and has previously worked in the capacity of deputy chairman of stewards of the Victorian Racing Club, chief stipendiary steward of New South Wales, director of racing for the Macau Jockey Club and, for more than three years, as the chief stipendiary steward of the Hong Kong Jockey Club.”

QRL’s acting chief steward Mr Wade Birch said, “I am looking forward to working with Mr Schreck over the next couple of months.”

“His consultancy will be of great advantage to our junior stewards and cadets”.

For further information please contact QRL’s director of integrity operations Mr Jamie Orchard on 0417 791 596.
