Maybe someone could tell me what is so unusual about getting 4/4   I know the 4th winner this weekend was short, but rumour has it that that was because of all the Racing Talk money following my tip.

It's because most people try to get a high enough profit to win the month, rather than just pick 4 shorties that'll get you nowhere

Simple logic will tell you that if you only ever back winners, you won't go broke, and the mortgage will get paid again this year.

BGM, we need to talk about the same thing mate - I'm not saying 'backing' 4 short priced winners will get you nowhere - I'm saying there has been only a few people get 4/4 in this comp, because very rarely does anyone win this monthly comp by finishing up 10% on turnover... and the further into the month it goes, people need to play catchup and the picks come in at longer odds accordingly.

I'm sure most people enter at least one 'speculator' in this comp each month (I know I do), and that's going to mean a lot of people will wipe out a chance of going 4/4 for the chance to climb up the table when they get lucky. This comp isn't usually won by consistency, a decent amount of luck is definitely required... and doesn't necessarily match reality when you look in your wallet at the end of the day.
