I wish I felt sick when I have 100 on a 4/1 winner but I know what you mean Magic. What would you normally have on it?

I went to Canterbury on Australian Cup day in 1990 and put $300 in the back of the wallet to have on Vo Rogue at 4/1.
Come race time I was about $400 in front for the day and he opened 12/1 with the satchel swingers and immediately me and everyone else thought he'd lost a leg.
So dumbo me has $100 on him and duly salutes giving me a $1200 win and I was giving myself uppercuts.
My mate says look on the bright side, if he was 4's and you had $300 on him you still would have won the same  mad

I didn't feel sick for the fact of losing the $100 OL, felt sick I had been waiting 4 weeks to back it then went and backed something else (Need to trust my judgment more).

I am not the biggest of punters anymore since having a family, 200 is a pretty big bet for me now days.

back when I was younger and with out a family to feed I had 1k (Which was still a big bet for me) on a horse we had having his first start, bit hard to justify to the wife having $1000 bets anymore  smiley

Hey magic thanks for blackbooking that one, had a huge result on it as it blew to good odds..As for curly, why would you listen to someone like him,he tips Black ink and Ice chariot as horses to follow? He sounds like someone ive known for a while, talks it up but has no idea..Too scared to step up to the plate when the heat is on...
