First winner at Doomben Streets Away was streets ahead of his fairly ordinary opposition.Place tote punters on UNiTAB were in for a nasty surprise when this uncompetitive monopoly posted money back for the place  while both interstate totes paid the minimum 1.04.Thinking tote+5% would be any better? think again the bonus of 5% on the win portion of the bet was NIL seeing that no one (except UniTAB)won LUXBET and Co followed suit. Thumb Down

Max , occassionally check out what they pay when there is a NTD.

Not saying you would get rich doing it but they do pay OK sometimes in this situation.

It would appear that backing the odds-on runners to place  in those NTD races works out better than the win ........95% return place, 89% return win. Thats over 4000 bets. One tote ( Sydney)

About the only time I ever bet place is in those 1-2 races. Some big distortions at times.
