Noted that winners coming down the middle where the going is better.  Anything that sticks to the rail must be racing on quicksand.  You cannot claim it is simply a swoopers track. Maldivian led, but had to come off the rail at the 600m.

Now this is clear evidence that the inside has been overwartered.  Has been no rain in Melbourne for three weeks and the temps would dry Lake Eyre.

I am not against watering tracks, but why can't the curators water evenly?

Not good enough. Thumb Down

BTW,

I am not saying that there was no bias today, just that I am not positive there was bias, and I worry that people (esp jockeys) jump to a faulty conclusion on tenuous evidence.

There was a straight race recently where one of the chances "won" the race on the wrong side.  He was sent out favourite next start, and got beaten, but ran the same race.  He was favourite because people saw bias on the straight track where there wasn't any.

I am not saying there is never bias, but I think punters and trainers tend to look for it to excuse there own errors.

you did see where el mandon was in the straight didn't you?
now re straight track racing, theres rarely more than 2 races up the straight at each meeting,so not a lot of chances in picking the bias,if in fact there is one on the day, riders are more worried about going the wrong side, and just because a horse wins on the outside, doesn't mean theres a bias, after all,1 horse has to win the race, and yes i will agree with you(manikato)that a lot of times the media etc are talking bias to quickly, and are wrong on a number of occasions, that doesn't they are wrong all the time, and that no bias exists, there are those that believe that no bias exists, thats their prerogative,i personally always look for it,thats i look for it,i don't listen to any media,i make my own mind up,and i alter my betting accordingly.

It seems that when the bias doesn't appear to be caused by watering nobody wants to know.

Finally,  a genuinely biased track, and well ridden by most jockeys too.  A couple came too wide in the staying race (hello Craig Williams on Growl) but in general well done all.

Wasn't it good to see the straight track races run as they should be, straight down the censored ing middle.

And the idiots gave Ollie the race by giving him the rail.

Thankyou very much you clowns, but lucky I got on last night because I would have pulled out if it was left to today.
