Any chance there are a couple of 'urgers' now on this forum?

No names , no packdrill, but I suspect a few posters.

I was taught by my old man "there is no such thing as a free drink on any racetrack". As nobody is "on track" anymore could it be that some of urgers, who once went on track in the old days,  are now on the net and on forums like this? rolleyes

Maybe I am a bit of a sceptic , but surely most connections and/or punters want to get the best odds in their betting and to spruik a horse on a forum will not benefit their cause.

No such thing as a free drink on a racecourse? Have they closed the committee rooms and the owner & trainers bar?  lol   lol   lol

Bubba's certainly right about one old group of urgers in Melbourne. They were mostly ex jockeys or short guys that never made it. One had a licence to train but hardly ever had a runner and another passed himself off as a jockey valet. They were about as dumb as the melons that put on the bets. One such melon was getting his money from the back door at the RTA ( licenses to immigrants for a cash fee ).

It was a funny old time as you'd hear one team meber tip horse A to Melon A and another team member tip another horse in the same race to another potential target. The info had always "come from" the jockey or trainer and that person would need a certain bet size to seal the deal. These urgers had access to the mounting yard and jockeys room which added credibility to their con.

One of the biggest urgers was named Ted Mc ............. oops better not.  lol   lol   lol

Wherever  there's loose money.....those ready to snaffle it aren't far away. Nothing will ever change that.

Hillbilly

Surely that bloke you mentioned ( TM ) could not be on this forum, he would not know how to turn on the power point for a computer.

Yes you're right Bubba. I might ask him about his computer literacy next time I'm downunder and see him lurking around a jockey.  lol
