I see US news channel when it happened, wasn't a bad effort in the end.
Funny thing was, when they went past him down the back when he was pulling up, he didn't get stuck into again for a while.

 He Blamed wasting and the work load etc etc, but if you ask me there is not
an excuse valid as how hard is it to look at the form and see what
distance the race is UNFORGIVABLE

See the jock on the second horse ..... when he first makes his move he tracks him a little, then down the straight it looks like he looks around behind him to see if anybody else was going for home, reckon he wasn't sure if it wasn't the last lap

Yes, I was going to ask the same thing, although I think it was longer ago than two years.

      and went 1 lap instead of 2

It still beat 1/2 the field home

I have seen that happen at Pakenham races, where the jock saluted but unfortnatley a lap to go
