Stewards questioned jockey S. Katsidis and trainer's representative Mr T. Edmonds regarding the tactics adopted in the early stages on POINT PAIN, where the horse was restrained to a position at the rear of the field, which appeared in contrast to the tactics adopted on the horse at its most recent start. T. Edmonds advised that the instructions were to ride the horse back in the field today, which he stated were similar to the instructions issued regarding the horse's previous run. S. Katsidis confirmed these instructions and advised that after being eased at the start, the horse overraced in the early and middle stages. Stewards noted the explanation for future reference.
Was the worst ride of the day yestreday by a long way.
Stathi never gave the horse a chance at all.
Strangled him back to last when the horse clearly wanted to go forward.
Still had him under a hold when last on straightening

How he thought he was going to make up that ground I don't know.
It seems as long as the foreman confirms instructions(even obvious losing ones) they can do what they want?
