I stopped betting on the GC races long ago, sounds like nothing has changed

Well that's stupid when the best thing of the day went around in Rocking To Rio and duly saluted.  wink

Stewards questioned jockey S. Katsidis and trainer's representative Mr T. Edmonds regarding the tactics adopted in the early stages on POINT PAIN, where the horse was restrained to a position at the rear of the field, which appeared in contrast to the tactics adopted on the horse at its most recent start. T. Edmonds advised that the instructions were to ride the horse back in the field today, which he stated were similar to the instructions issued regarding the horse's previous run. S. Katsidis confirmed these instructions and advised that after being eased at the start, the horse overraced in the early and middle stages. Stewards noted the explanation for future reference.

Was the worst ride of the day yestreday by a long way.
Stathi never gave the horse a chance at all.
Strangled him back to last when the horse clearly wanted to go forward.
Still had him under a hold when last on straightening what
How he thought he was going to make up that ground I don't know.
It seems as long as the foreman confirms instructions(even obvious losing ones) they can do what they want?

Why any owner would want him on in a big race is beyond me.  Undecided

I would say the worst ride I have EVER seen was by Davin Green on Toms Rocket today Race 5 at the Gold Coast  angry angry
Missed the kick and the whole way insisted on pushing for a non existent rails run on a big, long striding horse what
Was the best horse in the race by several lengths and ran 4th.
I thought Davin had been riding OK but that one was disgraceful Thumb Down

Was good to see Tom back up on Saturday and given every chance by M. Heagney got the cash  Thumb Up

Nearly double the odds of his previous run also  biggrin

Had this thread ready for Mascereri, Kerrin was on the rails right through the run so you could imagine my thoughts, and had to wait a bit in the straight, BUT got out rode it out well cheers Kerrin.  beer

tye angland on monton. barrier 1, was going to get the run of the race behind micmac- shellscrape. Felt the need to take off 3 deep outside leaders half mile from home. Slaughter of the first order, in gr1 no less.

I must have been watching the wrong race.

I saw him sitting back off the leader, one out, and given every chance.

I don't have the taping capabilities that others have. blush

I won't pinpoint 1 particular ride but M. Wood (a3) was off all day today.
Rode awful.
Looked like he had been on the drink last night.

M Zahra on Kanzan an early candidate for today's award.

3 and 4 deep from barrier 6 at the 1350m start. That takes some doing.  mad

Brad Rawiller on Eight Bills must've thought it was a 1000m dash. Why set a fast speed in the lead with the favorite especially as it was run over the last couple of starts when leading? Thumb Down The first 3 home came from well back.
