Yeah, a few rides there today will be the topic of discussion in pubs, clubs, and psych units tonight.

Is a winning ride eligible for this thread?
If so, I thought Munce's ride on Kar Ma Te was ordinary and he could have been caught red-faced easily enough but he got the breaks.
Why I was it was an ordinary ride was because the horse had a lap on the field, the best option would have been to come wide and stroll in without giving punters a minor stroke at the top of the straight.

I agree TD, Munce was just plain terrible yesterday, one of those crook days at the office. Kar Ma Te won despite a bad ride, should have won easily yet was up against it all the way. And then Carry Me Bluey, that's one of the best murder jobs I've seen for some time, it should have won by panels. We all have bad days on the tools, Munce had a shocker yesterday.

True - but given he was smacking it with the whip out of the gates it just wasn't on the job today?

How could he get it to the front when the horse couldn't go fast enough?

G. Colless on Nuptse in the listed fillies and mares race at Eagle Farm.
The horse is a renowned backmarker with a booming finish.
Drawn near the outside, instead of doing the obvious and going back to get cover and allow her to finish off, Colless heeled Nuptse out of the machines and had her 3 wide without cover outside the lead. Not surprisingly, Nuptse weakened out of the race in the last 200m.
4kg claimer stuff.
More 4 kg claimer stuff from Colless today on short priced favourties Snipzu and Skating on Ice. Sure they were drawn awkwardly, but both rides were terribly indecisive, and he ended up high, wide and handsome on both. Don't often see D J Browne end up 3 and 4 deep without cover on short priced favourites.

Adams on Saramenha in the 2nd in Sydney. 3 deep in a 5 horse field. You have to be joking.

Today's gong would have to go to D J Browne for his uncharacteristically appalling effort on the heavily backed Mr Moto in the 8th at the Sunny Coast.
Those watching might be forgiven for thinking he was giving it a run. Drawn beautifully, he allowed it to get too far out of his ground and then appeared to ride it into dead ends instead of clear running in the straight.
Having slaughtered the horse last start, getting caught 3 and 4 deep without cover, DJB may well find himself replaced next time out.

Hoping he runs into the rear end of the toppie in the next.

Just awful.
But he made amends with a smart ride on RTR.
