Luke Nolan - wins his own race and then sits 5 and 6 deep on Play The Fool and 4 deep from barrier 5 on Two Beauties. Good work son!

Race 1 and Jim Cassidy cannot be beaten for his pathetic ride on Lacada Siren.

There is a gulf of diference between a Bad ride and a bad rider, they can all make mistakes and be victims of circumstance, to judge a bad ride also sometimes depends on the fitness of the horse, this is something that the Punter watching on TV or in a pub or TAB can not possibly know, some trainers have their horses to a fitness level that they need to be smothered up and wait till as late as possible and then they have a ping that can win the race for them, get exposed or make their run too earl and they are vulnerable, others Like Waterhouse have their horses bone and Muscle and need to be on the pace as they will usually keep going, it is no co-incidence that her horses are usually ridden on pace, she trains them that way, others like Bart, Guy Walter, Bobby Thomsen train completely different and would not win the races Gai does if ridden similarly to how Gai's are ridden, and Vice versa, you have to know how you train them and have them ridden accordingly, not that one way is more efficien than the other, just the ride and the trining have to marry up! Jockeys are completely different to Trainers in as much as their primary asset is instinct, they don't have time to think and plan once the race has started, when you have a dozen others out there with similar instincts the smallest error or hesitation can be exacerbated by your fellow Jocks closing off your options, that together with your instructions pre race makes life hard, especially when they know all the Granstand Jockeys are sitting in their loungeroom watching on their big screen TV's and ready to pounce on any mistake they make, What I find strange is how many Punters criticise Jockeys but hardly any criticise trainers??

Just need to read the thread JP. whoever Y.VALENTI is in WA avoid this jockey like the plague.
I swear I doubt I've seen a more idiotic, unbalanced, ride than I just saw in the 2nd at Pinjarra on the toppy and I wasn't even on it.

That was Tongue in cheek, when you back a horse you tend to watch it more closely so you know exactly where the horses is and what it and it's jockey are doing at all times in tha race, nothing wrong with talking through your pocket, nothing makes you more observant than one carrying your own!
