Just a few weeks till the 2009 Winter Racing Carnival kicks off in Brisbane.

There'll be a couple of plane-loads of NZ raiders coming across, and already several of the southern stables are announcing plans to bring horses north for the winter.

With a bit of luck, the locals can repel the raiders so that some of the dollars will stay in the Sunshine State. thumbsup

The first plane-load of Kiwis arrived on Wednesday.

Two of last year's stars, THE HOMBRE and FIREBOLT are here.

Will be interested to see Thorn Park mare THE PARTY STAND.  She was reportedly gonna run yesterday. unsure
