I rate this bloke very highly, in fact I reckon there's no jockey in the world that rides hands and heels like he can, just one of the best sights in racing, apart from seeig your horse cross the line 1st.

Although he's all ready been quite successful, I just wanted to know how successful people think he would be if he could ride down to 53kg or even less.

love him, always that much more confident if one of my selections has him on top, Smart rider and very rarely makes bad decisions (apart from dumping efficent for gallic)  lol

They asked him in an interview after the race, "This would be the fastest horse you have ever ridden ?", and he replied, "I have ridden some good ones", I have no doubt he may not be the best he has ridden, but it got me thinking, what would the others be ?

Cheers

edit: Sprinters I mean  wink

Not saying that these are better than Scenic Blast, but the better sprinters he's ridden include Glamor Puss, Bomber Bill, Undue and Swick.

I have found him to be one of the most patient jockeys in the business and seems to know exactly the right time to make his run  on a horse...has won many races for me

Sort it out with them over there http://www.theracingforum.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=2

We could do with pacemakers in this neck of the woods. Last years Melbourne Cup was for once a fair dinkum staying test.    Thumb Up

King's Stand-winning jockey heads home
Warren Huntly
Friday, 19 June 2009

Steven Arnold will return to Australia before he is reunited with King’s Stand Stakes hero Scenic Blast in England next month.

Arnold plans to ride at Flemington on Saturday week ahead of a return UK trip to partner Scenic Blast in the Darley July Cup at Newmarket.

Scenic Blast continued an Australian dominance of the King’s Stand Stakes when he blew his rivals off the track with a lightning burst of speed from the 600-metre mark.

The victory rates as a career highlight for Arnold, who has now won 15 Group I races.

“It’s a privilege and a huge thrill to be associated with such a great horse,” Arnold said.

“Royal Ascot was definitely a career highlight for me and with a bit of luck there’s plenty more to come.”

Arnold said trainer Dan Morton deserved every accolade for his preparation with Scenic Blast.

“He has such a good understanding of where the horse is at and everything he’s ever told me about him has been spot-on,” Arnold said.

“Danny told me all along that unless something went awry he wouldn’t run again until Newmarket, and that little break between races should be ideal.

“I wouldn’t think he can go too much better than he did at Royal Ascot but that run should have him cherry-ripe for 1200m at his next start.”

Fair dinkum freak chicken. Even his ride on Dao Dao was faultless.

Fewer mistakes than any other this bloke.

Thought it was interesting that he's gone over to ride in the Alice Spring Cup.

Instructor would have to be a big chance. Good luck to him.
