With the opening of State Parliament after the recent election I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the first Hansard to see what our newly promoted ministers had to say for themselves.
Our new Racing Minister Hon.P J Lawlor (Southport-ALP )(Minister for Tourism and Fair Trading)
note no mention of Racing, had his moment of glory holding centre stage for 3 minutes speaking on the Tourism industry and the best job in the world promotion.
Not a word about racing.

Not a good sign when Racing doesn't get included in his title .

Hope he hasn't forgotten already.
The only contribution I found on racing was from opposition MP Vaughan Johnson Gregory LNP about the plight of country racing .
In closing he said
"I call on whoever may be responsible in the government to show some leadership and bring about a concept where we can once again enjoy racing as we used to in our country towns .We once took racing for granted but not anymore."Maybe he thinks the new racing minister is invisible
