A SERIAL fraudster jailed for trying to sell a Brisbane high-rise office block for $24 million in 2003 was back in court today for child prostitution.

The Brisbane District Court was told Ronald Vikash Gander, 27, sold a 16-year-old high school student for sex so he and his young girlfriend could afford to live in a luxury serviced apartment.

It was revealed the girl earned the couple $4500 in less than a week and was only rewarded with a free room and “buckets of chicken nuggets.’’

The court was told Gander and his 16-year-old girlfriend, a school mate of the girl, forced her into to prostitution after they took her in after a fight with her parents and to help them fund their up-market accommodation.

Prosecutor Ben Power said the pair offered the girl for sex in newspaper advertisements and that Gander would drive her to appointments and wait in the car while she had sex with clients aged between 40 and 60.

Both offences were committed between June 17 and 23 last year.

In October 2004, the then 22-year-old fraudster was jailed for six years for trying to sell Brisbane's Boeing building for close to $24 million.

Gander convinced a potential buyer he was a solicitor acting for the US head of mobile phone manufacturer Motorola who owned and wanted to sell the Adelaide St high-rise office block in December last year.

Gander also provided the agent and proposed buyer with a series of forged documents which resulted in negotiations that almost netted him a proposed $5 million deposit.

The Court of Appeal in Brisbane reduced Gander's six year term to five years jail in 2005.

He was released on parole in January 2007.

Gander today pleaded guilty to one count each procuring a child for prostitution and aggravated participation in the provision of prostitution.

Mr Power said the girl was threatened by her school mate that if she did not work as a prostitute herself she would have to live on the streets.

The money was used to pay for their Turbot St serviced apartment, in Brisbane's central business district, which cost more than $1000-a-week, he said.

The court was told the girl had to perform paid sex acts with clients, including one woman, on five separate occasions.

Mr Power said the couple would have continued to prostitute the child had she not revealed her situation to school staff.

Barrister Paul Smith, for Gander, said his client's girlfriend had hatched the scheme to prostitute the girl and that he only provided transport and security for the child.

Judge Marshall Irwin, who described Gander as a ``sleaze merchant'', said : ``This is a very serious example of the prostitution of a child.''

“(The girl) was used as if she were a piece of meat.’’

Gander was sentenced to two-and-a-half years jail, suspended after he has spent nine months in custody.
