That person who made the comment that Peter asked him details on another trainer I find totally laughable why on earth would this successful trainer be interested in any other trainer so get real and stop daydreaming. Thumb Down

"That person" was me.

At the time Snowden was not a succesful trainer at all, but a foreman for JR Hawkes and the trainer he was asking about was a trainer who had gone from having 4 tried horses in Sydney to being the leading trainer in HK in the space of about 5 years.
That trainer changed the way most of todays succesful trainers prepare their horses.
At the time everyone wanted to know how he was doing it!
But not everyone threw a tantrum when they were not told.

Ignoring the aforementioned incidence, I must congratulate Peter for his efforts with Sepoy  Thumb Up
It is not easy to keep a 2yo up and peak him twice in a prep.
He is doing a good job all round.

Shame he cries every time he wins a race  wink

Oh, and Paul is certainly his father's son  lol

Do you really think it is amatter of peaking them twice or just keeping them at a proper racing fitness and head space level ?

That depends on how much he has on his rivals I guess.

If I was running against kindergarten kids I could beat them every week.
If I was to take on someone of a similar physical level I would probably have to peak to beat them, assuming they were also peaking.
Given we are talking the elite races, it is fair to assume at least some of his rivals were peaking

While I haven't seen him up close I am inclined to think Sepoy was a man beating up on kids, he strikes me as a natural 2 year old quite mature both Physically and mentally, he races like an old stager, the rider can ask him to go forward, come back under them, he understands exactly what they want and responds accordingly, he is also very genuine and while he looks like he is doing it relatively easy he isn't, he gives everything he has which is usually enough, but the run can take a lot out of them, I just doubt there is much improvement in him from a maturity point of view(very similar to Dance Hero) if he was mine I would try the triple crown now while he has that advantage providing he pulls up OK from yesterday,

I think he would have been at his peak yesterday or very close (he may have actually peaked in the Blue Diamond) I doubt you would set a horse for the Golden Slipper without trying to have them at their peak or as close as possible, just some 2 year olds are fragile and trying to get them there they have to be nursed and you can't give them the work etc needed to get them there, that is why the mounting yard can tell you so much, if you push them too hard they fall apart, if you don't they aren't ready, then with all the theatre that goes with huge crowds and noise it can affect them mentally as well, Sepoy is perfect in that way because nothing seems to worry him

I am sure if this wasn't the Slipper Bart's 2 horses wouldn't have gone around and some of the others would be in the same boat

Recent positive swab results in $4K fine......probably his first offence so some credit given for imposing the fine. tears

Possibly Darley will pay it.

What a joke.

I was waiting for how long it took someone to notice he even had a positive.

Should not be able to use that he has so many horses in work defence.  That has nothing to do with it.  Whether you have 1 or a thousand horses in work you are still responsible for them.

Must have been decent levels otherwise it would have been ignored!!!

legitimate reason, he even changed his stable's handling of certain substances, and the small fine was due to the record keeping darley does

He is entitled to be crying today.

Momentum has cost him big time today.
