Yesterday I received a letter from the Electoral Commission asking me to explain why I didn't vote at the State Elections back in September 2008.
I filled in the enclosed form explaining I worked on that morning 3am - 10am, before heading in the opposite direction to where I live, as I had to attend a wedding that day.
I also explained that I attended Green Valley Library to submit an absentee vote, and after standing in a queue for the best part of 20 minutes, I was told that absentee voting was unavailable for this election.
I also advised that a copy of the wedding invitation would be available upon request.

Now the part that really got me.
The enclosed self addressed envelope provided to return the form was marked in the top right hand corner "AFFIX STAMP HERE"
  mad mad mad
On top of that, the post box at my local shop has been blown up by kids the previous week and I had to drive to a further location to mail the thing.
