GOSFORD: Quality Entries For Gosford Guineas

Friday, 17 April 2009: The decision by Gosford Race Club to reposition the Gosford Guineas and reduce the distance to 1200m has been vindicated with a list of 18 high quality nominations for the $125,000 Listed event.

The Gosford Guineas wil be run on Apriul 23, and is ideally position 16 days before the Hawkesbury Guineas.

Star three year olds Aichi and Desuetude from the Peter Snowden yard head the lis.

The classy filly Dorf Command from the Clarry Conners stable will carry only 53kg at the set weights and penalties conditions.

Leading stables including Gai Waterhouse, Bart Cummings, David Payne, Gerald Ryan, Chris Waller and Kevin Moses are all represented.

“The Gosford Race Club is thrilled with the support from the Industry for the inaugural running of the Gosford Guineas under the new format,” stated Gosford Race Club chief executive James Heddo.

“Racing NSW has done a tremendous job in working closely with us to identify an opportunity that benefits the Industry as a whole.

"We will be working towards increasing the prizemoney for this event in 2010 and will aim to have its black type standing increased from a Listed event to Group status within five years.”

$2.60 Is incredible odds for a horse who has (if you can trust the ratings) 10 kgs on his nearest rival yet only has 4 over the limit.

The odds do seem juicy do the bookies know something we don't? Aichi/Dorf Exacta looks a good bet too.

looks like it should get a good run tevez, back on top and whitefriars will cross from wide out and be 1-2 settling imo, dorf command a good chance of tracking behind lead on rail, your exacta looks to be hard to beat, all depends how the track plays,gl
