Australian jockey Aaron Austin celebrated the biggest win of his career on Sunday  after winning the Group One RM$250,000 Astro Wah Lai Toi Vase (1400m) aboard Australian-bred galloper Mighty Triple Ace at Sungei Besi racecourse in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
By Testa Rossa out of a Scenic mare, Brave Scene, Mighty Triple Ace caused a minor upset, defeating Jeram Delight by one and three quarters lengths with Happy Victory in third.

The first five horses across the line were Australian-bred with the sixth placegetter, Fianchetto having his first start in Malaysia since enjoying a distinguished career in New South Wales, racking up $150,000 in prizemoney for connections which included a fifth in the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) as a three-year-old.

The field also contained former David Hayes galloper Soreadyforspring who went into the race as one of the more fancied runners after winning at his Malaysian debut ahead of Jeram Delight three starts back.

However he failed to figure anywhere near the finish.

Austin is blooming as a rider since departing Melbourne for Malaysia in the middle of September.

He rode his first Malaysian winner on October 3 also at Sungei Besi, which was only his fifth meeting in the Asian country.

That breakthrough victory also turned out to be his 90th career win.

For Mighty Triple Ace, the win was his seventh from 18 starts and his second consecutive victory after winning a Class 1 Handicap (1200m) last start which included former Australian gallopers Zankel and Sendeed.
