Lisa Cropp suspended at The Farm in Brisbane from 16 June until 16 September for shoving her arm up going to the post, one would expect her to appeal her three months out.

Damien Oliver was suspended for nine meetings and fined $5000 for his ride on Empires Choice in the Derby, free to ride on 30 June - guess UK goes bekoning.

ENGLAND
Frankie Dettori has been banned for 14 days for overuse of his whip while steering Ramonti to victory in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot last month.

The suspension - from July 13-26 - will not stop the jockey from riding English Derby winner Authorised in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes later this month.

Ramonti was the surprise winner of the June 19 race to relegate favorite George Washington, who had just come out of stud, to fourth place.

Dettori appeared before a Horseracing Regulatory Authority hearing on Thursday, admitting that he broke the rules by hitting Ramonti with excessive frequency without giving him time to respond.

A disciplinary panel was told that Dettori struck his mount 25 times inside the final 2 1/2 furlongs (500m) of the race.

Constable suspended for six months

12 July
By Rob Burnet    throughbredNEWS

Victorian jumps jockey Brian Constable was suspended for six months on Wednesday after the Victorian Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board rejected his explanation for falsifying a urine sample as "inconceivable".

RADB chairman Judge Russell Lewis said Constable, who was charged with improper practice after being asked for a urine sample at Warrnambool races on May 1, had tried to deceive stewards and the board rejected his explanation.

Stewards charged Constable with "secreting a quantity of fluid in a plastic bag in his silks and providing that fluid, falsely representing it to be a contemporaneously excreted urine sample".

The board fined Constable $500 on a second charge that he failed to stay on the racecourse when directed to by stewards.

Constable, a dual Grand National Steeplechase winning rider, pleaded guilty to both charges.

The jockey can continue to ride trackwork but is banned from race riding and competing in organised trials. It was his second offence for not providing a urine sample at Oakbank in April 2004, which resulted in a 10-week suspension.

Very, very foolish man.  It's probably the hardest switch to pull and he ends up doing time anyway.

He's more talented as a jockey than a fraudster.  :tard.gif:

I wonder what the rules are for a jockey to serve the time of their suspension when it comes to being rubbed out for say 10 meetings... when there arent any meetings?

Very good point diddles, you would hope that the authorities take that in consideration and base in on the pre programed meetings.  What happens when a meeting is cancelled due to rain.

Cancelled due to rain westie still counts as a day off suspension but of course that is after acceptances and jockey nominations. In this case there are meeting programmed but nomination shut down. One would hope it is counted on scheduled meetings as it would be an even worse financial blow to the jocks if not.I know someone who might be able to answer the question tonite... will keep you posted.

Damian Oliver out for 16 meetings while Steven Arnold is out for 14 meetings.  Who will ride Marasco, as I think Paul Harvey is also suspended.
